Thingyan or water festival is one of the seasonal event in South East Asia especially in Thailand and Myanmar. It's a new year for these two countries; thus, it comes with a long holidays. In Myanmar, offices close around 10 days during Thingyan.
Thingyan is originally a very traditional custom of Myanmar. However, nowadays the younger generations make it wilder. Many women are seen drunk and wear see-through clothes. That does not fit in well with the Buddhist country.
The photos flowing into the social say it all that younger generation doesn't feel the original activities of Thingyan. Everyone, there are many crime cases, and unwanted problems occurred every year. Yet, people still love it and do it wilder and wilder eliminating the original taste of Thingyan.
