On 1st April, 2016, the custom department from Hpa-an, Karen State capital Myanmar has confiscated the illegal imported Chang Beer from Thailand and destroyed it by running over the cans with a truck.
The confiscated product has 750 packs, the market price of 14,350,000 Myanmar Kyat - approximately 12,000 American dollars. The Chang Beer was illegally imported and has not been paid the custom fees. The local police caught the truck carry the products and confiscated all of it.
In order to show that those confiscated are not kept for personal business interest, the police destroyed all the cans with the media reporting the case to make public learn about the illegal imports.
